Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data this website (nazeersaeed.com) collects, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The site is a personal professional portfolio. The data controller is Dr. Nazeer Saeed, Cologne, Germany. You can reach me at [email protected]. Full contact details are on the Impressum page.
Hosting and Server Log Files
This website is hosted on shared hosting provided by GateHoster. When you visit, the hosting provider's servers automatically record technical information in log files, including your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This data is processed to deliver the website securely and reliably and to diagnose technical problems. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are kept only for as long as needed for security and troubleshooting and are not combined with other data to identify you.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-B8NQTQ2JY3), a service of Google Ireland Limited, to understand in aggregate how visitors use the site. Analytics does not run unless you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga) and collects information such as the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, your approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), and your device and browser type. IP anonymization is enabled, so your IP address is shortened before storage. This data is processed only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Some data may be transferred to Google servers; Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Your Consent Choice
No analytics or tracking cookies are set before you give consent. The only thing stored before consent is a small entry in your browser's local storage that remembers your own cookie choice, so the banner does not reappear on every page. Choosing "Decline" keeps the site fully functional with no analytics. You can change your decision at any time using the button below. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by clearing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser.
Booking a Call (Calendly)
The "Book a Call" links open Calendly, a scheduling service operated by Calendly LLC. If you choose to book a meeting, the details you enter (such as your name, email address, and chosen time) are processed by Calendly to arrange the meeting, on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into contact (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). This happens only if you actively use the booking link. See the Calendly Privacy Notice for details.
Contacting Me by Email
If you email me at [email protected], the message and your email address are used solely to respond to your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). I keep such correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and to meet any legal retention obligations.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. To exercise any of these rights, contact me at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, such as the data protection authority of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany.
