This project involved the development of a LiDAR SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) system enhanced with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to achieve high-accuracy mapping and real-time navigation in complex environments. By integrating LiDAR sensors with an IMU, the system was able to precisely track its position and orientation, even in GPS-denied settings such as indoors or densely covered urban areas. The project focused on improving the robustness and accuracy of the mapping process, enabling more reliable and detailed environmental perception for applications ranging from autonomous vehicles to robotics and augmented reality.
